🔒 100% private — nothing is uploaded to any server

Works best with short videos (up to ~60 seconds) and files up to ~150 MB, depending on your device's memory. The overlays are approximate: each app may tweak its interface over time.

    How it works

    1

    Upload your image or video

Drag the file in or pick it from your device. It isn't uploaded to any server.

    2

    Choose the platform

TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts: each one covers different parts of the screen.

    3

    Adjust and download

If something important is covered, move it in your editor and download the reference screenshot.

Why the safe zone matters in vertical video

Every short-video app draws its own interface on top of your content: the username, the caption, the sound icon, and a column of buttons (like, comment, share, profile) that almost always lives on the right side, near the bottom edge. If your text, your logo or your face ends up right under those elements, part of your message is lost for a big chunk of your audience.

The safe zone is basically the area left clear of that interface: usually the center and the upper band of the screen. TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts don't occupy exactly the same areas, so the same video can look perfect on one platform and have the logo covered on another.

This tool lets you check it before publishing. You upload your image or video, pick the platform and see a live overlay showing where each interface's elements sit. If your text lands right in the middle of the icon column, there's still time to move it in your editor.

The rectangles you see are an approximate guide based on how each app usually looks, not an official pixel-perfect measurement — platforms adjust their design from time to time. So, on top of the overlay, it's worth doing a final visual review before publishing, especially if your account has an extra feature enabled (like pins or badges) that can take up more space.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the safe zone on TikTok, Reels or Shorts?

It's the area of the screen that stays clear of buttons, icons, auto captions and other interface elements, so it's where you want to place text, a logo or anything important.

Are the overlays official for each platform?

They are an approximate reference based on each interface's usual layout. Apps update their design from time to time, so use them as a guide and visually review the final result before publishing.

Can I use it with a video, not just an image?

Yes. Upload the video, play it with the overlay on and switch platforms to see how it behaves on each one throughout the clip.

Is my video or image uploaded to a server?

No. All processing happens in your browser with canvas and HTML5 video. The file never leaves your device.

What exactly does the capture button download?

A 1080×1920 PNG image with your photo or the current video frame, plus the chosen platform's overlay on top, ready to save as a reference or share with your team.

Does it work for formats other than 9:16?

The tool is built for the 9:16 vertical format. If your file has a different ratio, it's automatically center-cropped to simulate how it would look inside each app's player.
